Laser Hair Removal Information:
Unwanted hair has always been a nuisance in our every day lives. With the exception of electrolysis, which can be a long and painful process, all other options for hair removal are temporary at best. Laser hair removal has changed all that. It is a fairly quick and easy way to reduce the amount of unwanted hair on the body. This form of hair removal utilizes lasers that emit a beam of light that passes through the skin to the hair follicle, where it is then absorbed and transformed into heat so that is can disable the follicle.
There are many different types and kinds of lasers. Technicians utilize different lasers because each laser emits a unique wavelength of light. The light wavelengths are successful depending on the patient's skin type. Today, individuals with skin tones ranging from white to dark/tan are able to reduce un-wanted hair with positive results.

Technicians also utilize cooling devices that provide comfort and protection for the patient's skin. Most lasers emit either a cooling gel or a cooling spray a split second before the laser pulse in order to ensure maximum protection. Technicians also use either cold packs or 5% litocane solution as other cooling alternatives. Although the cooling devices are in place to help protect the skin and minimize redness, the skin will sometimes become slightly red afterward. If any redness does occur, it usually goes away within a few hours. Most patients will not experience any redness at all.
Individuals will need to receive multiple treatments in order to completely disable the hair follicles. Most people need anywhere from 3 to 6 treatments, but some might need up to 8. Skin type, coarseness of hair and hair coloring all contribute to the amount of treatments needed. Once the treatments are completed, the hair will most likely cease to grow back but if it does, the thickness, coarseness, and amount of hair in the desired area will be significantly reduced. This is a safe, quick and effective way to solve the problem of unwanted hair.

ELECTROLYSIS:
If you are looking for a permanent solution to an unwanted hair problem, electrolysis may be just what you need. While it is one of many forms of hair removal, it is the only permanent method. Other forms of hair removal, including laser hair removal, are faster and easier, but only electrolysis can guarantee permanent hair removal.
Hair removal by electrolysis is accomplished by using a tool called an ‘Epilator'. The Epilator treats each individual hair by inserting a tiny surgical probe into the hair follicle and directing an impulse of energy down to the root of the hair. The energy impulse causes localized damage to the area surrounding the hair. If inserted correctly the probe will not puncture the skin, it will slide directly into the follicle. This is a very slow and exact process, but the time and care taken ensures permanent results.
Electrolysis cannot be completed in one treatment, it is a weakening process. Each treatment causes the hairs directly treated, to die, but the energy impulse stimulates new hair growth directly around the area previously damaged. The new hair grows finer and thinner, so it is less noticeable. Each additional treatment will treat these new hairs until hair growth stops completely.
Depending on the area being treated, electrolysis can take up to four years to successfully complete. While this time span is longer than any other hair removal treatment, the results are permanent. With a series of regular treatments, unwanted hair will become a permanent reality.
